Well people, did I not tell you all what was going to happen? The Bucks have a new head coach, GM, and plan.  Even the disappointment of the lottory results can’t dampen this Bucks fan’s unbridled joy. You know what else?  They are shopping Micheal Redd just as I predicted. As I see it they are a young team with two paths they can go down.1. They can select Eric Gordon and stay young.  Taking him gives you a combo guard which will come in handy. Also, trade dead Redd for another draft pick in the first round, or trade him for a young gun in the small forward position.  Even though you are setting yourself up for a tough few years, what’s three or four more the way the Bucks have performed since 2001?2. Trade our pick, and dead Redd for a very high-end player, I haven’t decided yet on just who, perhaps Shawn Marion?  This would fix the problem immediatly and get us right back in the playoff hunt. On the other hand, will this high profile player stick around long enough to play with the youth of our team as experienced players?  History has told us no, due to the small market and lack of effort. One thing is for sure, there is a new wind blowing in Milwaukee and for once it’s pointing north, not south.. Officiating is one the most important jobs in sports, but it is also the least rewarding. The officials never win or lose and someone is always upset with them. Despite negative feelings a fan has toward anofficial because of one bad call or a lifetime of bad calls, one must admire their concentration, knowledge, andcommitment to being a fairofficial in sports.Every day, millions of people wait for the official’s call upsetting half of those people that’s a lot of pressure. The way officials handle themselves during a tough call is quite impressive. How many of us could really handle Lou Piniella kicking dirt at us, swearing and spitting in our face, and then, to top it off, give us aterrifying glare while he messes up home plate?I don’t know about you, but just seeing him come out of the dugout would make me run from Chicago faster than Zambrano can throw a fastball overhome plate.Officiating is in a new era of the annoying “instant replay.” The camera is making the calls now.But the one sport that stays true to the good ol’ human eye is baseball, which just one reason why I think it’s the hardest sport to officiate. In baseball, it’s difficult toofficiate because the ball is flying so fast that there’s barely enough time to judge the call. Something about football, whether it’s the angle that the refs have or the long distance that the refs have from the fast plays, make for a bunch of stupid calls. The refs in football also don’t get to see as many games so they get a lot less practice thenofficials in other sports. In baseball, every single pitch and play rely on what the officials say.
